How much I admire the way you love everyone around you with a passion so fierce, it's impossible to not feel it burning into you. Being your daughter has been one of the greatest pleasures of my life.

You taught me how to be kind, how to be loyal, how to be a good friend and how to love without conditions. It made me a better girlfriend, a better friend, a better sister, a better daughter, and a better mother. Everything else doesn't really matter does it?

I know you worry you failed us. I know Dad's betrayal threatened to consume you, that you lost yourself for a long time. That you aren't proud of how you handled the fallout, the way you leaned on me, the way you couldn't be everything you wanted to be. Mom? It's okay. Forgive yourself for not being perfect, I never blamed you. Ryann loves you even if she struggles to show you that. She doesn't hate you or resent you, she just hates not having things the way she always wanted them.

She's a spoiled brat is what she is. I'll take the blame for that one. I spoiled her because I never wanted her to hurt, didn't want her to grow up too fast. I already had but it never bothered me, Mom. I never minded being more your friend than your daughter. I didn't mind holding your hand, handing you tissues, giving you a place to vent your frustration. I forgive you for it all. I forgive you for expecting more from me than was fair. But Mom? I swear if you let this push you back over that edge, I won't forgive you.

You fought and clawed your way back out of that hole. I am so fucking proud of you. I know this hurts. I know you still have regrets you wanted to make right with me. I know you're losing more than just a daughter. I know, Mom. I know I help you keep your sanity, I help pull you back from that ledge. I need you to take all the advice I've given you over the years and fucking use it. I need you to do better because I can't be there to clean up after you. I need you to take your mental health seriously.

I need you to be okay. Promise me you will be okay even after I leave this world. Promise me that when you start to get low, you will hear my voice in your head, calling you back to the land of the living. Promise me you won't let this pain turn into rage. You lash out when you're in pain, but I'm telling you now that you will not, under any circumstances, turn your anger on Ryann. You will not vent your pain on her.

Take all the regrets you have for me and pour them into doing better for her. She's still a kid, she still needs her mom.
